Before ordering, confirm the genes and alterations examined, RNA-based fusion analysis and any validated TMB, MSI or HRD assessments. Plasma is used only for specifically validated tests.

Know what the test covers

Beyond the panel name.
The right test for the clinical question.

Molecular tests differ in the genes and genetic changes they assess. Selecting a test means matching its coverage and sample requirements to the clinical question.

DNA / RNA

DNA and RNA analysis

Check the genes, regions and types of genetic change included in the selected test. If gene fusions involving ALK, ROS1, RET or NTRK1/2/3 are relevant, confirm the assay’s fusion coverage and whether RNA analysis is included.

TMB · MSI · HRD

TMB, MSI and HRD

Tumour mutational burden (TMB), microsatellite instability (MSI) and homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) require specifically validated assessments. They are not included in every genomic panel. Confirm their availability and sample requirements before ordering.

PCR / NGS

Testing after treatment progression

Include the previous treatment regimen and timing and pattern of progression. A focused PCR test or broader NGS panel is selected according to the clinical question, previous molecular results and available sample.

A referral starts with three details.

01

Clinical context

Provide the diagnosis, disease stage, previous treatment and the question relevant to further management.

02

Sample & accompanying documents

Tell us what sample is available and provide the histology report for tumour tissue. We supply preparation, submission and transport instructions for the selected test.

03

Testing arrangements

Confirm analytical coverage, informed-consent requirements, performing laboratory, cost, expected reporting time and the clinician receiving the report.
